Sixth Street definition and meaning

Sixth street is a casino term used by players to refer to the fourth stage of betting. The term is used when playing poker variations such as Seven Card Stud or Stud 8 or Better, for example. If you are a Texas Hold’em player, think of it as something similar to the Turn in Texas Hold’em.

During a game of Seven Card Stud, players have a total of six cards in their hands during the fourth stage of betting, which is how the term was coined. Players often use this term to explain when an action took place — for example, saying that they’ve raised or folded on the sixth street.

Additionally, the sixth street is followed by the last round of betting, where the players will have a total of seven cards in their hands. As you might’ve guessed, that term is called the seventh street.
