Blind Bet definition and meaning

A blind bet is often used by poker players, and the term refers to players betting before they see their cards.

For example, if a player has been skipping hands because they have been dealt bad cards, they might decide to join in on the action without taking a look at their hand, and simply bet blind.

Furthermore, similar to betting blind, poker players can also check or call blind before the flop, after seeing their hands, which can significantly speed up the pace of the game. Some players even take advantage of the term and use it to bluff.

Keep in mind that the action is irreversible regardless of whether you’re betting or calling blind, so be careful how you use this bet.
