BritBrag definition and meaning

BritBrag or Brit Brag refers to a variance of poker played with three cards against the casino. The game is also known as 3-Card Casino Brag or simply 3-Card Poker.

This game has a long history as it was played in Britain during the 16th century. It derives from an Elizabethan game called Primero — one of the ancestors of poker.

After placing the ante and additional bets, if there are any, both the player and the dealer are dealt three hands each. The player may then look at this hand and decide if he wants to bet his hand against the dealer’s — the size of the bet is usually the same as the size of the ante.

Naturally, there are more rules but you should now have a general idea about how to play Brit Brag if someone asks you.
