Shuffle Tracking definition and meaning

Shuffle tracking is a term used by casino players and casino personnel to refer to a card counting technique.

Shuffle tracking is an advanced form of card counting, and there are numerous ways for players to shuffle track. The technique is most often used in games where casinos use multiple decks, and advanced casino players use it in six to eight shoe-dealt games, such as blackjack.

Every casino has to follow a set of rules, and dealers have to use predetermined shuffling techniques before dealing cards. When there are multiple decks involved, shuffle tracking becomes slightly easier if the dealers use simple shuffle techniques, but it is still extremely hard to master.

An important thing to note is that all forms of card counting, such as shuffle tracking, aren’t illegal. Nevertheless, casinos strongly disapprove of using this technique. Therefore, anyone caught counting cards or shuffle tracking will be asked to leave the casino.
