Pit Manager

A pit manager or pit boss is a term used in land-based casinos that refers to a person in charge of managing several casino tables. Brick-and-mortar casinos have numerous tables for various games, such as blackjack, roulette, and craps, for example. In order for those tables to be accessible to both the casino staff and the players, they are usually arranged in two rows of tables that go back-to-back. The space between the tables is reserved for casino personnel, such as floormen, dealers, and pit bosses, while the players can access them from the front. A group of tables arranged like that is known as the pit and, naturally, a pit boss is in charge of what’s going on in a pit. While dealers are in charge of the tables, floormen supervise and correct every mistake that occurs during a game or resolve any issues that arise. However, if there is some serious gaming discrepancy, the pit manager gets involved. Simply put, a pit manager is a person who oversees the dealers, floormen, and players in order to ensure that everything is functioning smoothly in the pit they are in charge of.

Down to the Felt

Down to the felt is a gambling term that refers to a player going completely broke. While it can be used both in online and land-based casinos, chances are you won’t hear it that often among players in online casinos. There are several other ways to say that someone is going broke in casinos, and one of the more popular ones is tap out. As you may know, casino tables are covered by felt tablecloths. What’s more, to play in a brick-and-mortar casino, you need to have chips. Now, most of the time when players have chips in front of them, they will stack them up in small columns. As they lose, that stack of chips will diminish until there are none left. In other words, they will lose until they are down to the felt, which is how the term was coined.

Drop

Drop is a term that has multiple meanings when used in land-based casinos, depending on the situation it is used in. When used in blackjack, the term drop has the same meaning as fold. By folding in blackjack, you are basically taking the surrender option that allows you to drop your hand and keep half of your initial stake. In addition, drop can also refer to the money lost by either a player or the casino. Naturally, the meaning of the term depends on the context and the person using it, but since these two meanings are very different, there shouldn’t be any confusion.

Eye in the Sky

Eye in the sky is a term used by players and staff in land-based casinos; it refers to the numerous cameras used in casinos to monitor the action. To prevent players from cheating and make sure that everything is functioning smoothly, every modern brick-and-mortar casino has an advanced surveillance system that tracks everything that’s going on. Cameras are located on the ceiling, which is why people refer to them as eyes in the sky. In addition, the term may also be used to describe the casino’s security personnel. Usually, they are located in the control room that has a video feed from all the cameras, and they are the ones who notify the security “on the ground” in case there is something suspicious going on. Earlier casinos had dated monitoring equipment, but some of the best-equipped casinos of today have advanced high-resolution cameras capable of recording audio as well.

Firing

Firing is casino jargon used to refer to a player who is continuously betting large amounts of money. The term is most often used in land-based casinos due to its connection with casino chips. As you may know, every land-based casino uses chips. When a player has a lot of chips and stacks them on top of each other, they resemble a gun barrel. For that reason, players started using terms such as “firing the first barrel” or “firing the second barrel” to refer to betting a whole stack of chips. The phrase caught on and voila — the term firing was coined. However, to continuously fire chips, players need to have a big bankroll, especially if they are playing poker that has numerous betting rounds, so the privilege is most often reserved for high rollers or whales.

Flat Betting

Flat betting is a gambling term often used in land-based and online casinos that refers to a person betting the same amount for every hand they play. Since there is no “creativity” or change in pace, always wagering the same amount is simply referred to as flat betting. In addition, flat betting can be used as a betting strategy. The idea behind it is to bet the same amount each time until you manage to land a winning streak. As is the case with every other betting system, to start flat betting, you need to determine your initial stake, which could be anywhere between 1% and 5% of your bankroll. One thing to note is that flat betting is not considered to be a very good strategy among casino players, especially by those who give more value to other systems.

Flea

Flea is a term used in land-based casinos to refer to an annoying person at a table. Most often, the term is used when there’s an entitled loudmouth who annoys other players as well as casino staff by expecting complimentary rewards, such as RFB and comp points, while only placing small wagers. As you may know, comp rewards are most often reserved for players who bet big or those who regularly play in the same casino. Sometimes, casino staff even gives comp rewards to players who are having a rough night and are on a losing streak. However, casino staff prefers doing that on their own accord, and they are the ones who determine who will receive comp rewards. Because of that, someone who continuously asks for such awards is only bothering them and potentially other players as well, disrupting the gameplay with their requests. Keep in mind that while the term is somewhat justified, it is also derogatory. For that reason, it would be best to avoid using it so that you don’t end up offending someone.

Grind

Grind, grinding, or to grind is widely used jargon that describes an action of continuously repeating the same process in order to push yourself to achieve something. When it comes to casinos, grind refers to a player who keeps wagering small amounts and working their way up to make a profit. While a whale or high roller would bet hundreds or thousands of dollars and hope for a lucky break, a grinder usually relies on their skill and plays it safe. By understanding the game and betting small, a grinder is not risking a lot, so if they lose, they can still recover and continue working their way up. Interestingly, one of the well-known professional poker players, Michael Mizrachi, is nicknamed The Grinder because he started his career precisely by grinding. It clearly paid off as he currently has 5 WSOP bracelets under his belt and numerous achievements in prestigious tournaments.

Coat-Tail

Coat-tail is a gambling term most often used in land-based casinos; it refers to a person who is betting the same numbers as the person winning at that moment. Needless to say, a lot of casino players are quite superstitious. When you combine that with long losing streaks, it doesn’t come as a surprise that those players are quick to decide it’s time to change tactics. While some simply change their approach and bet different sets of numbers or amounts, other players bet the same numbers as someone who’s been winning throughout the night. Coat-tailing is most often used by inexperienced players, especially at roulette tables. However, it’s not uncommon to see a good player on a losing streak try someone else’s numbers. Sometimes, they might follow someone else’s example, even if it’s for the sake of breaking their unlucky streak before continuing to bet their usual way.

Cold

Cold is a widely used term that is also popular among online and land-based casino players. The term is most often used to refer to players who are on a losing streak or a slot machine that hasn’t been paying out throughout the night. If you’re a casino regular, chances are you have heard someone referring to something or someone else being on fire. At the same time, you might have been advised to play on a specific slot machine because that slot is hot. Naturally, saying that doesn’t mean that someone is actually on fire or that a machine is all heated up — it simply means they are on a lucky streak and that the players who have been playing on that machine have been winning. As we all know, cold is the opposite of hot, which is why casino players have started using the term cold to refer to something or someone who is on a losing streak.

Colouring Up

Colouring up is a gambling term used in land-based casinos that describes a player exchanging smaller chip denominations for higher-valued chips. Virtually every brick-and-mortar casino uses differently coloured chips, and each of the colours represents a different denomination. Thanks to this, both players and dealers have an easier time distinguishing between differently valued chips. Therefore, instead of having to check each chip individually for their value, dealers can do quick math and immediately know how much you have placed in a pot. When a player is exchanging chips for a higher denomination, they are technically replacing the colour of their chips, ergo, colouring up.

Comp Points

Comp points is a term used both in online and land-based casinos. The term refers to reward points that can be used to claim various prizes. If you have played in casinos before, you are probably aware that virtually every casino has a VIP programme. Players who continuously play in the same casino and big spenders get to climb the VIP ladder and earn various rewards. To advance up the ladder, a player has to accumulate a number of points specified by the casino, and those points are known as comp points. In some cases, especially when it comes to online casinos, casino operators have exclusive shops available on their platform. You can visit those to spend your previously earned comp points. Naturally, the details of VIP programmes and specifics regarding comp points vary from one casino to another, but the general idea behind them remains the same.

Cracking the Nut

Cracking the nut is most often used by land-based casino players. It is a phrase that refers to a player making enough money to cover their expenses and also make a profit on top of it. Simply put, it means to achieve projections. The term might’ve derived from the phrase “tough nut to crack”, which refers to solving a difficult problem or dealing with a difficult situation. While online casino players don’t have any gambling expenses, apart from losing bets, of course, those players who prefer playing in brick-and-mortar casinos often have to spend some money to possibly earn some in return. For example, quite often, those expenses include travelling to and back from a casino, paying for a hotel in case they’re spending the night, and possibly even some drinks. For a player to “crack the nut”, they have to cover all those gambling-related expenses and then make a profit.

Crossfire

Crossfire is casino jargon used by players to refer to dealers who are chatting about everything but the game in front of them. The term crossfire is most often used in land-based casinos. The situation involves a dealer who ends up chatting with other dealers, a pit boss, or even other players without any disregard for the game. While some players don’t mind it and are more than glad to partake in the chatter, other players might end up displeased or even irritated, as they would prefer to stay focused on the game. Furthermore, in some cases, a stickman might end up talking with other players or casino personnel, which significantly slows down the game of craps. This can easily get on someone’s nerves, especially because a game of craps is supposed to be fast-paced. Regardless of the situation, make sure you are not the one caught up in the crossfire and that you are not keeping the dealers occupied. They need to focus on the game and avoid rubbing someone the wrong way.

Dime

Dime is a widely used term that refers to a bet you can place in both land-based and online casinos. In everyday life, a dime is a ten-cent coin. However, in casinos, the term dime has a completely different meaning. Namely, a dime refers to a $1,000 bet, so don’t make the mistake of betting more than you had initially planned to. Casino players love their own jargon and using short phrases and terms, so instead of having to say they are betting a thousand dollars, they can simply say they’ve “put a dime on red”, for example. An important thing to note is that some players use the term dime to refer to a $100 bet. While the term is rarely used like this, make sure to let the other person know precisely what you are referring to in order to avoid any confusion.

Bug

Bug is a gambling term used by both brick-and-mortar and online casino poker players and most of the time, it refers to the joker. However, keep in mind that if it’s used in poker, the term can refer to a wildcard that can only be used to form straights and flushes. As a playing card, the joker is found in virtually every French standard 52-card playing deck. Furthermore, they can also be found in both Spanish and Italian suited decks, while they are excluded from stripped decks. While it is present in most of the decks, the joker is often omitted from play. However, there are still numerous games that use decks that feature jokers, such as Gin Rummy, Go Fish, Crazy Eights, etc. Depending on the game you're playing, jokers can have a different role. For example, they can be a wild card, which is the case in poker, or the highest-value trump card.

Chase

Chase is a gambling term used both in sportsbooks and casinos. The term refers to a person who continues to gamble in the hope they can recover their money after making a losing bet. Naturally, for many players, the goal of gambling is to earn money and be in the black at the end of their gaming session. However, that’s not always the case; quite often, after losing a few hands in a row, players end up on a chase to at least break even, which is how the term chase started being used in casinos. What’s more, being on a chase is often accompanied by poor betting decisions and aggressive betting, which negatively affects the player’s bankroll. Therefore, make sure you don’t end up on a chase and always keep your cool when betting.

Wild Symbols

Wild symbols is a term that refers to a group of special symbols found in video slots and slot machine games. To win, you have to land a winning combination of three or more symbols on an active payline. Every slot game comes with numerous symbols, making it more difficult to get three or more of each on a payline. However, wild symbols can substitute for every other symbol, apart from bonus symbols such as scatters, allowing you to make winning combinations much easier. There are several different types of wild symbols, such as stacked wilds, sticky wilds, shifting wilds, and expanding wilds. While each of these wilds works differently, fundamentally, they all serve the same purpose and are there to substitute for other basic symbols.

Aggregate Winnings

Aggregate winnings is a gambling term used both in online and land-based casinos that refers to the cumulative amount of cash a player has made during one gaming session. The term is most often used by players who are sharing how much they’ve made during a period of time. However, the term doesn’t refer to a specific period of time, and it can be anything from one gaming session, a week, month, or even longer, so make sure to let the person know what are you referring to when using the term. For example: “John’s aggregate winnings for last night’s gaming session were almost $10,000!”

Scatters

Scatters or scatter is a term that describes a type of bonus symbol you can find in video slots and slot machine games. In most modern-day video slots, apart from the basic symbols, you can also find wild and scatter symbols. While wild symbols always act as a substitute for other symbols, scatters are usually the ones that trigger bonus features, such as free spins or mini bonus games, for example. The most common way to trigger these is by landing three or more scatters at the same time. However, keep in mind that this can change from one slot to another, depending on the design. In addition, scatter symbols usually pay both ways. In video slots, winning combinations are almost always calculated from left to right exclusively, making scatters one of the best symbols to land in a slot game.

Shifting Wilds

Shifting wilds is a term most often used among video slot and slot machine players, and it refers to a bonus feature that appears in slots. If you have played slot games before, you must know that wild symbols or wilds are the symbols that substitute for every other symbol, apart from the bonus ones. Much like your regular wilds, shifting wilds serve the same function. However, as their name suggests, they shift their position on the reels. Shifting wilds are quite similar to sticky wilds. However, instead of staying in position, they shift with each new spin. For example, they can shift their position from one side of the slot to another, and after reaching the leftmost or rightmost reel, they will “fall off the reels”. In some cases, shift wilds may work their way towards the middle of the slot before disappearing. The exact details vary from one slot to another and depend on the theme of the slot, but the function of these wilds is always the same.

Slots

Slots is a term used to refer to a type of casino games. It can refer to video/mobile slots if you are playing in an online casino or slot machines if you are playing in a brick-and-mortar casino. Being one of the easiest games to master, slots have quickly become one of the most popular casino games, both in online and land-based casinos. Nowadays, there are hundreds of video slot software providers and thousands of different titles you can choose from, especially if you are playing online. What’s more, many video slot developers are creating titles optimised for handhelds devices like smartphones and tablets, so you can easily play on the go.

Stacked Wilds

Stacked wilds is a term most often used by video slot and slot machine players, and it describes a bonus feature present in some slot games. If you have played video slots before, chances are you are familiar with wild symbols and their function. In virtually every video slot, they act as a replacement and can substitute for every other symbol. When it comes to stacked wilds, they pretty much have the same function. The only difference between a regular wild symbol and stacked wilds is that stacked wilds come, well, stacked. In other words, instead of taking one spot on the reels, stacked wilds come in pairs of two or three, and in some cases, they can even cover an entire reel. For this reason, stacked wilds can provide significantly bigger payouts than regular wilds and can net you multiple wins during a single spin.

Sticky Wilds

Sticky wilds refers to a feature available in some slot machine games and video slot titles. Apart from vintage-themed slot games, virtually every modern-day title comes with wild symbols. In case you are unfamiliar with them, they act as a substitute for every other symbol and can help you land winning combinations much easier. When it comes to sticky wilds, they are not much different from regular wild symbols. They have precisely the same purpose, but unlike wild symbols that disappear each time you spin the reels again, sticky wilds will, as the name suggests, stick to the playing grid. That way, if the reels are spun again, sticky wilds will remain on them. How sticky wilds function varies from the design of one video slot to another; most often, they are connected to another bonus feature. For example, in some cases, sticky wilds can remain on the screen for the duration of the free spins feature, while in others they will stay only for the remainder of the cascading reels feature. To learn precisely how they function, make sure to check out the slot’s paytable menu.

Twenty-One

Twenty-one is a centuries-old gambling game that has developed into popular casino games like Pontoon and Blackjack. If you’ve played either blackjack or pontoon before, chances are you’re already familiar with the general rules of Twenty-One. The game includes a banker and several punters. The role of the banker is assumed by one player, and it rotates around the table unless a casino has one of their staff members to play the role of the banker. As the name suggests, the goal of the game is to get as close as possible to 21 or have 21 exactly, without exceeding the number. To play, players have to place a bet either before the cards are dealt or after they have viewed their first card and before they have been dealt their second card. In addition, you may ask to receive a third card from the banker for free, or you can “buy” it by raising your initial stakes. Naturally, these are only the general rules of Twenty-One, and there are several more rules that can vary depending on the casino you are playing in. Furthermore, some regions have their versions of Twenty-One, such as Germany’s Siebzehn und Vier and French Vingt-Un.

Online Casino Games

As the name suggests, the term online casino games refers to all the games that can be found in an online casino. Nowadays, reputable online casinos have hundreds of different games and the diversity of titles they offer is their most significant advantage over brick-and-mortar casinos. The biggest portion of their offering is video slots. However, the best thing is that all of those slots come from various software providers but are all available within a single online casino. The term also includes numerous table games you can find in an online casino, such as roulette, blackjack, video poker, baccarat, all of which have multiple variations. What’s more, players can enjoy specials like craps, bingo, keno, etc. Finally, to offer the authentic brick-and-mortar casino experience, virtually every reputable online casino has live table games, allowing players to play against live dealers.

Outside Bets

Outside bets is a gambling term often heard in both land-based and online casinos. It is used to describe types of bets players can make in roulette. If you have played roulette before, you might have noticed that the layout of the table appears to be comprised of two parts. All the bets in the inside area of the layout are called inside bets, while those in the outside area are outside bets. While they offer a lower payout than inside bets, you are more likely to land a winning bet by making outside bets. There are several different types of outside bets, such as the column bet and dozen bet. In addition, outside bets also involve betting on high or low, red or black, and odd or even. If you are placing one of these bets, you are making an outside bet.

Paytable

Paytable is a term used in casinos that refers to the menu available in video slots and slot machines. Video slots are one of the easiest types of casino games, and they come with only a few options you can adjust. Apart from the volume and auto-play settings, players also have the option to enter the paytable menu. This menu includes essential information regarding the video slot in question. It describes bonus features and tells you how to trigger them, displays the value of each symbol, and usually shows all available paylines. Furthermore, it also includes the RTP. Simply put, to an experienced video slot player, a quick glance at the paytable menu is enough to get all the necessary information about a video slot.

Progressive Slot

As the name suggests, progressive slot is a term used by video slot and slot machine players and it refers to a type of video slot game. Progressive slots are slots like all others. However, they come with one significant difference — they present you with an opportunity to land a progressive jackpot. Each time you spin the reels of a progressive slot, a small portion of your bet is added to the progressive jackpot prize pool. The size of a progressive jackpot continuously increases until it is won by a player, at which point it resets and the process starts anew. Progressive slots often come with several different jackpots integrated into them, each with its own prize pool. Naturally, the harder the jackpot to land, the bigger the reward. Depending on the design, there are several different ways to land a progressive jackpot, so make sure to enter your slot’s paytable and get familiar with basic rules before you start to play.

Punto Banco

Punto Banco is a casino game — it is one of the most popular variants of baccarat due to the fact it has some of the lowest house edges among all casino table games. The term is comprised of two words: punto for the player and banco for the banker. The gameplay is “automatic”, meaning there aren’t many decisions the player can make, apart from betting on the player or the bank. The game is dealt from a shoe that contains 6 to 8 decks, and there are three possible outcomes: player, banker, and tie. In Punto Banco, cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value, an ace is worth 1, and the value of 10 and face cards is 10. To win, you have to bet correctly on the winning hand. There are two possible outcomes — the banker or the player, and the winning hand is the one that has a card sum value of 8 or 9. Naturally, there are more details when it comes to playing Punto Banco, so make sure to check out a guide and get familiar with the rules before you start to play.

Reel

Reel or reels is a term most often used by video slot and slot machine players. It refers to horizontal columns that are an integral part of slot games. If you have played slots before, you know that every reel features one of each symbols available in the slot. Whenever you press the button or pull the lever, the reels spin before coming to a stop, at which point you can see whether you have landed a winning combination or not. In modern slots, the most common number of reels is five. However, video slot developers continuously create new and intricate titles to make the gameplay more exciting, which results in some unique-looking slots. While vintage slots have as little as three reels, some software providers go as far as to create titles that have two playing grids. However, regardless of the number of reels, they always serve the same purpose.

RNG

RNG is an abbreviation that stands for Random Number Generator. The term is most often used in video games or casino games and it refers to a software algorithm that generates random outcomes. There are two types of RNG generators — pseudo-random number generators and real random number generators. The pseudo-random number generator uses a table of predefined constants and various mathematical formulas to produce a “forced” random result based on an algorithm. In other words, the result isn’t actually random but only appears to be such. However, the result is virtually impossible to predict and it still provides a sense of randomness. When it comes to the real number generator, to generate such a number, a computer uses unpredictable events from the outside world. For example, your computer measures a physical phenomenon that occurred in the real world or takes a random event such as how many seconds have passed since you pressed a key on your keyboard. Since you are not predictable like machines or algorithms, a computer is able to create a truly random number by using that information. An important thing to note is that, in order for a casino or video slot developer to get a license, they must pass rigorous tests to verify the fairness/RNG of their games. Therefore, if you are playing in a licensed casino that offers games from licensed software providers, you can rest assured that their games are fair.

Roulette

Roulette is a casino game played in both brick-and-mortar and online casinos. A game of roulette is comprised of two parts: a roulette table and a roulette wheel. The table has a layout on which players can place bets, while the wheel has numerous pockets labelled with numbers that correspond to the table’s layout. The gameplay is relatively simple — a player only needs to place a bet on the roulette table. The croupier will then toss the ball onto the spinning wheel, and after the ball stops, the croupier will announce the winning bets. Whether you’re playing in a brick-and-mortar or online casino, there are numerous variants of roulette you’ll encounter. Some of the most popular ones are European Roulette and American Roulette. The only difference between these two is that the latter comes with a 00 pocket. When it comes to online roulette, apart from the standard version, some of the most popular variants are games like Lightning Roulette and Double Ball Roulette, for example.

House Edge

House edge is a gambling term used in both land-based and online casinos. It refers to the advantage the casino has over the players. Most often, the house edge is expressed in percentages, and it is the direct opposite of the RTP. For example, if a game has an RTP of 96%, the house edge would be 4%. House edge is one of casinos’ ways to make money. It can vary from one casino to another, and can also change depending on the game you are playing. What’s more, the house edge can vary in different variations of the same game. However, keep in mind that the house edge is not the same as a fee since you have to pay a fee every single time while both the RTP and house edge are theoretical. With a house edge of 4%, a casino is expected to make $4 on every $100 you bet. However, this is calculated overall and becomes true after hundreds and thousands of played hands. At the same time, it is also more than possible for you to beat the odds, play two hands and win both times, which is precisely what makes casino games exciting.

House Rules

House rules is a gambling term that refers to a set of rules outlined by a casino or sportsbook establishment. Most often, the term is used to describe the terms and conditions of playing in a gambling establishment. These rules can be general casino rules or they can be a new set of rules specific to that gambling establishment. For example, some casinos have specific dress codes and won’t allow you to enter if you’re in, let’s say, sportswear and shorts. Another example is never to touch other players’ chips — this rule is applied across all casinos. In addition, the term can also refer to betting rules agreed upon by the players or the rules regarding a private poker evening between friends, even though it’s rarely used in this context.

Inside Bets

Inside bet is a term used in both online and brick-and-mortar casinos, and it refers to a type of bet you can place while playing roulette. If you have ever played roulette, you might have noticed the layout on the roulette table looks like it was comprised of two conjoined parts. One of those layout parts has various bets that appear to be on the inside of the layout, which is how the term inside bets got its name. Inside bets include betting on specific numbers or small combinations of numbers. Therefore, if you find yourself placing a straight up bet, split bet, street bet, or corner bet, you are making an inside bet. Naturally, the opposite of inside bets is outside bets, and this type of bets include even money bets such as high or low, even or odd, and black or red, for example.

Insurance

Insurance or insurance bet is a gambling term used both in online and land-based casinos. It refers to a type of bet you can place. Namely, the insurance bet is only available if the dealer’s face-up card is an ace. If that happens to be the case, you can opt to place an insurance bet, which is a side bet since you will still be required to place your main bet to play the hand in the first place. In case the dealer ends up having a natural blackjack, you will receive a payout of 2 to 1 if you have placed the insurance bet. More importantly, you can win the insurance bet regardless of your main bet. If the dealer ends up having a natural blackjack, you will lose your main bet but win your insurance bet, thus breaking even. It is also possible to win the insurance bet and push the original bet if you land a natural blackjack.

Insurance Bet

Insurance bet is often simply called insurance, and the term refers to a type of bet you can place during a game of blackjack. It is used both in online and land-based casinos, as well as in multiple variations of blackjack. However, the insurance bet is not always available. In classic blackjack, it becomes available only if the dealer’s face-up card turns out to be an ace. Before the dealer peeks for a natural blackjack, every player at the table will have an option to place an insurance bet. If the dealer does end up having a natural blackjack, each player who has placed an insurance bet will receive a 2 to 1 payout. In addition, a player can win the insurance bet regardless of their main bet. Therefore, it is possible to win the main hand but lose the insurance bet or vice versa. At the same time, it is also possible to win the insurance bet and push on your main bet.

Limits

Limits or limit is a gambling term that has multiple meanings depending on the type of game it is used in. For example, if it’s used in land-based or online casinos, the term refers to a fixed limit you can bet during each round and also the maximum amount you are allowed to raise. This is especially useful in poker since it prevents high rollers or whales from bullying other players at the table by using their gigantic bankrolls to continuously make other players fold, which ruins the flow of the game. In other cases, it simply refers to the maximum bet you can place in various casino table games. When it comes to sports betting, the limit refers to the maximum amount you are allowed to bet per game, and it can change depending on the sport you’re betting on or the type of bet you are placing.

Line Bet

Line bet is a gambling term that has various meanings and is most often used in sportsbooks, as well as in both online and land-based casinos. When it comes to sportsbooks, a line bet refers to a bet between two teams or players when there are only two possible outcomes. This type of bet is often used when there is a big difference in odds between two teams. Sportsbooks then add a handicap to one team and make line odds equal. To win a line bet, a team or player you’re betting on must cover the line. For example, if you are betting on basketball and the team you are betting on has a -10 point handicap, to win your bet, your team must win with 11 points or more. When it comes to the use of line bet in casinos, the term is used in roulette and once again, it refers to the type of bet you can place. In roulette, a line bet is also known as a six-line bet, as it allows you to bet on six numbers simultaneously. By placing a chip on a line between two rows of numbers, you can bet on, let’s say 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Just make sure the chip is on the line between 4 and 7.
