About Playson Company

Playson is a Maltese gambling content provider, which first appeared on the market in 2012.

During the last 5 years, the company had intensified its efforts to strengthen the European market presence. Currently, Playson has Maltese offices (including the headquarters in Ta’ Xbiex and an office in Sliema) and Ukraine (Kiev and Odessa). You may also find the info that Playson has offices in other Eastern European countries (Russia, Belarus) but it does not reflect the actual situation.

As on January 2018, Playson remains a privately held company having several hundreds of employees and is not listed on the international stock markets unlike some of its competitors.

Playson’s focus area is B2B sector (gaming platforms and B2C casino operators).

How Playson Got Started?

Despite the fact that the company was officially registered in 2012, the gambling community found out about it only in 2014, when the first set of games was introduced on the largest gambling-related trade show ICE in London. Since then Playson participates in almost every major gambling trade show all over the world (ICE, iGaming super show, EiG, iGaming Summit SIGMA, G2E Asia).

The reason why the company “kept itself in the background” for two years is that during that period of time Playson was building and strengthening the partnership with the leading gambling platforms and operators worldwide.

At present Playson is a partner of SoftGamings, NYX, Microgaming Quickfire, MediaTech and other platforms. The list of the partnering operators includes 1xBet, Betsson Group, Hero Gaming etc.

In 2015 the company got the UK Gambling Commission license. As on January 2018, it remains the only license Playson obtains. And the info regarding Alderney and Maltese licenses granted to the provider is incorrect (Playson obtained the Alderney license in 2015, but later it lapsed).

Playson’s soft is certified by the internationally accredited test lab Quinel M. Ltd.

Owner, Revenue & Net Worth

As mentioned before, Playson is a privately held company (its full name is Playson Ltd.) and it is not listed on the international stock markets. So all the info regarding its revenue and net worth is non-public. Playson’s executives are Adam Daniel (Managing Director) and Ivan Farrugia (Director). And Alex Ivshin is company’s IT-Director.

Key Moments

  • All of the provider’s games are omnichannel and HTML5-based, which means they can be played using any device (both PC and mobile)
  • Playson’s portfolio isn’t super large (only 45 games in total at this time) but the quality of each game is up to the highest standards. You just won’t find one unpopular or poorly executed game created by this provider
  • Playson’s developers not only use the 3D-graphics, which most of the gamblers have already accustomed to, but also gamification elements, which is still pretty exotic for the modern gambling industry
  • The company offers not only stuff for the online casinos but also various solutions for the brick and mortar casinos. The slot portfolio is enhanced with some table games and video poker

Products and Services

Slots are the Playson’s main forte. As on January 2018, there are 37 different slot games in the provider’s collection. The topics used vary from the classic fruit slots to pirate, space, festive or mythology-inspired (and many more).

Every game has a clear concept, a beautiful design, a nice enchanting soundtrack and a schtick, something that helps it stand out from the thousands of other slots out there.

E.g. the “Down the Pub” slot earned its place in the sun due to the combination of 3D-graphics and a unique bonus round, which is a real game within the game. During the bonus round the gambler gets a chance to play the old-school slot (and the game is not over until the gambler uses all of the 3 lives awarded to him in the beginning).

“Viking Gods Thor & Loki” is an outstanding sample of gamification working for the gambling product. Once the gambler starts spinning the reels (s)he gets 4 achievements to fulfill. After finishing all 4 tasks the gambler gets an auto bonus round with the free spins. The progress can be tracked in the top left corner.

Such an approach helps to keep the gambler in the game longer than ever. Everyone wants to get that prize bonus round and spends more time spinning the reels.

Besides that, the slot has many extra bonus features like the “sticky wild” during the bonus game or the vertical bonus symbol generating wilds on the side reels.

Table games and poker

Apart from the slots, Playson offers the operators 3 types of roulette, 3 types of blackjack and 2 types of video poker. And just like the slots, the table games also have an outstanding quality, elegant design, and a thought-out UI/UX. So none of the Playson’s table games seem like unfinished or non-merchantable.

Playson’s games are so good that the most popular online casinos in the world strive to get those into their collections. You may find Playson at Pokerstars (a part of the world-known poker network), Mr. Green, VBet, Slots Million and many others.

And not least, Playson took care of the comfortable integration of all the games. So the operator may choose from either the direct seamless integration or an integration using the preferred platform. Besides that, the company also offers the development of unique customized slots (including branded ones) to satisfy all of the operator’s needs.
