Low Roller definition and meaning

Low roller is a term used to describe someone who’s the opposite of a high roller. While high rollers look for high stake tables where they can bet maximum amounts of money, low rollers normally play at tables with low stakes.

It is a common misconception that low rollers are new players who are afraid to risk a lot and don’t want to lose. Even players who are extremely good can often be seen playing at low stake tables and grinding their money slowly instead of betting big a few times and, potentially, risking it all and placing their hard-earned money in luck’s hands.

Apart from the amount they are betting, the biggest difference between a low roller and a high roller is that high rollers often receive special treatment from casinos they are playing in because of the money they spend in their establishments.
